Atlanta Hawks on Monday clinched a hard-fought victory against
New York Knicks in the first round of NBA playoffs in the 2020-2021 season. The
fourth quarter of the game decisively marked a two-point gap that saw the Hawks
win with a 105-107 score over the Knicks.
Quarters 1, 2 and 3 all saw a very close game, as the Knicks
came back strong in the second and third quarters with 34-28 and 23-19 scores
despite losing the first quarter by a 16-24 margin. It was ultimately the
fourth quarter which saw a 32-36 upper hand for the Hawks, as Atlanta Hawks
Point Guard Trae Young silenced the Madison Square Garden crowd with his last
moment net, sealing the deal for the away team.

Young ended with a total of 32 points (seven rebounds, 10
assists) to his name, where Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 18.
From a score of 100-100, Bogdanovic levelled with a three -pointer before Young sealed the deal with a floating two-point shot, taking Atlanta ahead 107-105.
Alec Burks, on the
other hand, stepped up for the Knicks, totalling 27 points throughout the game,
including 18 in the fourth quarter alone. Derrick Rose and Julius Randle were
the other significant contributors to the Knicks scoreboard, with 27 and 15
points respectively.
In the conclusive fourth quarter, however, the New York side
could not stop Young from scoring the last two-pointer that separated the two teams,
with just a second to go on the clock.

The Knicks and Hawks are scheduled again to meet on
Wednesday night in the second game in the best-of-seven series.
