Making a significant addition to his newly formulated cabinet President-elect Joe Biden has planned to name former union official and current mayor of Boston, Marty Walsh as his labor secretary, reported news agency Reuters.
Walsh has been serving as the Democratic mayor of Boston since 2014.
Isabel Guzman, a California economic development official, on the other hand will be made in-charge of Small Business Administration (SBA), according to the source as quoted by Reuters.
Guzman, who was also acting as the deputy chief of staff, was a senior official at the SBA during the Obama administration.
In 2019, Isabel became the director of California’s Office of the Small Business Advocate, where she helped in implementing a grant program for businesses affected by the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Biden chosen Indian-American Vanita Gupta to be the associate attorney general while roping in Judge Merrick Garland for the position of attorney general earlier in the day.
Other than these nomination, Biden, on Thursday, announced the nominations of Lisa Monaco as deputy attorney general and Kristen Clarke for assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division
