The Capitol riots hearing is set to be the talk of the moment as the House Select Committee has decided to make its proceedings public. The nine-member panel is investigating the January 6 riots that were meant to disrupt the vote certification of then-President-elect Joe Biden.
With the televised hearings, the seven Democrats and two Republicans on the nine-member panel hope to grab the attention of the American public.

The panel also plans to re-use the testimony it has gathered so far, which includes more than 1,000 depositions, text messages of former White House officials and documents retrieved from the national archives.
The committee will sort through the mountain of information it has collected into different hearing topics, from domestic extremism to security failures to what former President Donald Trump was doing in the White House that day as hundreds of his supporters brutally pushed past police and forced their way into the Capitol.
When does the hearing start?
The House Select Committee announced that the first public hearing will be conducted on June 9, 2022. The time for these hearings has been set at 8 PM ET, which is also the prime-time news hour in the United States. The hearing was scheduled this way to broaden the audience.
