Maryland residents were handed a shock when news emerged that five people were killed in a shooting incident in Charles County. The incident took place in the La Plata neighbourhood in the county on Friday, November 4.
As per the authorities, officers received a report of a shooting in the 3000 block of Wildflower Drive in La Plata on Friday evening. After reaching the scene, they found five unidentified adult victims dead.

An investigation has been launched into the incident by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office as well as the La Plata Police Department, however, there are no suspects at the time. Meanwhile, the authorities are currently working towards identifying all five victims and the relation among them. The police have also confirmed that the incident is isolated to the house where the bodies were found on Friday.
The owner of the residence where the corpses of the victims were recovered has been contacted by the police and recent reports suggest that he is cooperating. However, a large police presence has been added to the scene as well as the area since the incident.
A forensics team has also reached the crime scene, along with several vehicles from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and several unmarked vehicles.

“At about 4 pm, officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and La Plata Police Department responded to a single family home in the 3000 block of Wildflower Drive in La Plata for the report of a shooting. When officers entered the house, they located five people who were deceased,” a statement issued by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook read.
“All of the victims appear to be adults. Investigators are working to establish the identities and the relationships between everyone involved. At this this time, the incident appears to be isolated to the residence. Additional details will be released when they become available,” the statement added.
