A 911 call on Tuesday morning claimed that a shooting has taken place at Kendrick Middle School in Clayton County. After that, rumours started spreading on social media about the shooting incident at the school. However, the school district later made a statement in which they clarified that no such shooting had taken place.
“Clayton County Public Schools is aware of a police presence in the area of Kendrick Middle School. Please be advised that there has not been a shooting,” a statement from the school authorities read.

After the call was made, the security around Kendrick Middle School was beefed up, and reportedly, the police presence in that area was also increased out of concern. The school authorities have also said that the police officers are investigating the hang-up call, which is believed to have come from the community.
“Officers are currently investigating an alleged 911 hang-up call from within the community. Out of an abundance of caution, through collaborative efforts with municipal police departments and CCPS Police Department, there is enhanced security in the area to ensure all students and staff remain safe,” the statement from Clayton County Public Schools further said.

The Clayton County Public Schools authorities further said that the investigation on this case is active, and it will not be possible for them to comment any further on the matter.
In another incident reported by AP, a 21-year-old man was shot dead by a police officer after he called 911 seeking roadside assistance. The parents and relatives of the deceased have been pushing hard for accountability, and they will be holding a press conference on Tuesday to demand the release of police footage.
