Former US president Donald Trump is more upset from a ban on Twitter than losing the November 3 election to Joe Biden, his niece Mary Trump, who is critical of the Republican, told a news outlet. Mary, who wrote a highly critical book on Trump and his family, told Business Insider that the 74-year-old Republican did not “care about politics” and instead he would have been far more upset if Twitter decides to permanently ban him from the platform.

More than losing the election, the Twitter ban and the decision of PGA in January to pull its 2022 championship from his golf club in Bedminster affects him, Mary said.

She said that the Twitter ban and PGA championship withdrawal from his golf club are “probably the worst things that have happened to him (Trump) in the last four years,” quoted Insider.

The former president was banned from Twitter earlier this year after pro-Trump supporters sieged the US Capitol on January 6, ahead of Biden’s certification. Twitter banned the 74-year-old citing that there were chances of Trump inciting another violence.

After the main handle of Trump was banned, he attempted to send tweets from different accounts, which were also shut down. A report in Politico has detailed how he had gone “ballistic” when he lost access to Twitter.

Mary told Insider that Trump ‘must’ realise that people are not paying attention to him in the same way before, and questioned how he is managing without Twitter.

Trump’s niece said that if he had become as “irrelevant” as every other person who loses an election becomes, his “mental state would be much different.”
