The Federal Bureau of Investigation has called on everyone involved in the US Capitol protests-turned-riots to hand themselves over to the authorities, reported CNN. 

The deputy director in charge of the FBI’s office in Washington stated, “Even if you left DC, agents from our local field offices will be knocking on your door.” 

The US Attorney for Washington, in a display of power, said that charges filed against those convicted are “just the beginning” as relevant authorities are looking at greater felony cases which could result in up to 20 years in prison, reported CNN.

He further announced that the two pipe bombs which were discovered on January 6th near the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee were in fact real devices equipped with timers and igniters. 

He said, “We don’t know exactly why they did not go off, that’s being investigated,” he said. “What was the purpose of those devices being planted? Was it a diversionary type of tactic used by some of these rioters? “Or did it have some other type of nefarious purpose? That is what the ATF, the FBI, and PD are looking at as we speak right now”, reported CNN. 

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the individual, or individuals, who left the pipe bombs.
