“The collection named ‘Deep Impact: Martian Lunar and Other Rare Meteorites’ is offering rare meteorites open for bid between February 9-23, 2021,” states Christie’s website.
Among the collection is a statue prepared of stardust which is believed to be as old as 7-billion-years. This star dust is made up of stone meteorites which lands itself to Earth in an unusual way.
The biggest highlight of the sale is a highly aesthetic oriented stone meteorite, the estimate of which is around $50,000-80,000. Its weight is nearly 7.2 kg (16lbs).
The key takeaway of this magnificent offering is that unlike 99% of the meteorites it has not trembled or inverted in shape as it plunged down to earth, rather maintained a stable shape and orientation.
