Good news for Potterheads! ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ will premiere on Broadway on November 16. According to CNN, the story will take place 19 years after Harry, Ron and Hermione saved the wizard world. There will be new generation of kids attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The show will be produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.
Releasing a statement, the production house said, “We are delighted to announce that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be returning in North America.”
The show is based on the original story by JK Rowling and written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany.
The show will debut on November 16 in New York City and head to Curran in San Francisco on January 11. It will also premiere in Canada in May.
The film series was based on JK Rowling novels. It began with ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, which release in 2001.
The film series had Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson in the lead playing characters Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, respectively.
Part one of the series was among top 50 highest earning movies in the US.
