The Houston police on Friday said that they have rescued around 30 people from a human trafficking operation after a man in his underwear running down the street was reported to some officers. 

“Officers received a report of a male in his briefs running down the street yelling that he had been kidnapped,” the Houston police on Twitter wrote. They added that the man said that nearly 30 people were being held hostage in the house, whom the officers rescued. 

Houston police said that 25 men and one woman were rescued and “this was a human smuggling operation.” 

“25 males and 1 female. Officers found this was a human smuggling operation and are cooperating with DHS. Fort Bend ISD police assisted by opening a nearby school gym so the victims could get out of the cold. 202,” the Houston police wrote on Twitter. 

According to CNN, federal prosecutors on Friday said that one Honduran national, illegally in the US, has been charged with harbouring 29 people. The person is expected to make his initial appearance on Monday before US Magistrate Judge Frances Stacy, said the Justice Department, reported CNN.
