Vivek Ramaswamy, the Indian-American multimillionaire biotech entrepreneur, has witnessed a rapid surge in popularity and online fundraising in the wake of his impressive performance at the initial Republican presidential primary debate.

In the aftermath of the debate, Ramaswamy’s campaign reported a remarkable fundraising success. Within the first hour after the debate, the 38-year-old presidential hopeful raised over $450,000, with an average donation of $38. This surge in financial support points to a growing base of enthusiastic backers.

Ramaswamy’s confident demeanor and strategic engagement during the debate seem to have struck a chord with voters and online supporters. Notably, he was engaged in heated exchanges with top contenders like former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Vice President Mike Pence, and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

An Axis report highlighted Ramaswamy’s commanding presence in the absence of Donald Trump, stating, “In Trump’s absence, Ramaswamy drives the GOP debate.” A post-debate poll revealed that 28% of respondents considered Ramaswamy the standout performer, followed closely by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 27%, and Pence at 13%. Fellow Indian-American candidate Nikki Haley garnered 7% of the vote.

Ramaswamy’s popularity was also evident in online searches. According to Fox News, he was the most Googled GOP candidate following the debate, with Nikki Haley following suit. Interestingly, both Indian-American candidates stood next to each other on the debate stage.

While Ramaswamy’s debate performance received praise, it wasn’t without its critics. The Wall Street Journal reported on his rising prominence but criticized his foreign policy proposals, suggesting they might not propel him to the White House.

As the debate concluded, Ramaswamy expressed confidence in his performance, predicting a two-horse race between himself and former President Donald Trump.
