Canadian actor Jahmil French, who starred as Dave Turner on “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” has passed away at the age of 29.
The actor’s agent Gabrielle Kachman confirmed his death on Tuesday.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of a dear friend and client Jahmil French,” she said, USA Today reported. “He will be remembered by many for his passion for the arts, his commitment to his craft, and his vibrant personality. I ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
However, there has been no clarity on the cause of death.
French played Dave Turner on “Degrassi: Minis” from 2009 to 2010 and then went on to play the role on “The Next Generation.”
Born on July 29, 1991, he has also worked in the shows “The Divide,” “Remedy,” “Let’s Get Physical” and the Netflix series “Soundtrack.”
He attended the Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts in Scarborough, Ontario.

For his role in the ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’, for which he received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series at the 1st Canadian Screen Awards in 2013.
French’s performance in the film ‘Boost’, for which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 6th Canadian Screen Awards in 2018.
