US President Joe Biden said that he will address the nation on Thursday
night to lay out points for the next phase of COVID-19 response plan. He will
also talk about what is still required to defeat the coronavirus, which has shaken US to a great extent. This will mark Biden’s maiden prime-time
address to America after he took over the office in January, reported AFP.

“I will talk about what comes next. I’m going to launch the next phase
of the COVID response and explain what we as a government will do and what we
will ask of the American people,” Biden said while briefing press at the White
House.
Apart from this, Biden added that he will also observe the first
anniversary of pandemic declaration by the World Health Organisation when he is
highly likely to talk about the sacrifices made by the US citizens and millions
of lives impacted by the deadly virus.

The WHO on January 30, 2020 waved its first big warning flag, calling
the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic. The virus first emerged in China’s Wuhan city in
December.
Biden will also shed light on the efforts and work his team has done to
catalyze the vaccination process.

US Congress on Wednesday approved the President’s $1.9 trillion COVID relief package aimed at easing the economic impact of the virus on
tens of millions of people.
So far, the United States is the worst COVID-19 hit nation with over 29,154,600 confirmed cases and
more than 529,000 deaths, reported AFP.
