Cyclist Lance Armstrong’s eldest son, now 21, has been charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl back in 2018, however, the allegations have been denied by his legal aides.

Luke Armstrong was arrested after the alleged victim, who was 16 at the time, detailed to the Austin Police Department the nonconsensual sexual encounter.

The unnamed girl, according to the Austin Statesman, said she called Luke to pick her up from a party after becoming intoxicated and then she fell asleep. However, when she woke up, she found herself at a house owned by Lance Armstrong where she alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Luke before he drove her home without even saying a word. She was in no state to consent or fend him off.

Meanwhile, an attorney for Armstrong argued that the incident was a consensual sexual encounter “between the two young people with both ultimately going their separate ways” and “a complete review of the facts will confirm what has been alleged absolutely did not occur,” according to the Statesman.

According to the arrest affidavits obtained by the Statesman, the victim provided a call recording from December where Luke admitted to having sex with the girl, however, he too claimed the encounter to be consensual.

The police talked to six people — including the girl’s mother — described the girl’s account as describing a sexual assault.

If convicted of the second-degree felony of sexual assault of a child, Armstrong could face up to 20 years in prison.

According to media reports, Luke was arrested Tuesday and has since been released on bond.
