Marjorie Taylor Greene vowed to ‘defund the political persecution waged against’ Donald Trump in birthday wishes for the ex-President.
Greene has been the U.S. representative for Georgia’s 14th congressional district since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, she was elected to Congress in 2020 following the retirement of Republican incumbent Tom Graves, and reelected in 2022.

Greene has supported conspiracy theories that are antisemitic, white nationalist, and far-right, such as QAnon, Pizzagate, and the thesis of the white genocide. The government’s participation in American mass shootings, the Clinton family being falsely accused of murder, and 9/11 conspiracies are just a few of the extreme conspiracy theories she has promoted.

Strongly backing the former president Donald Trump, Greene helped and encouraged Trump to try to rig the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Greene has since backed Trump’s allegations that the election was rigged. In spite of the fact that the federal agencies and courts tasked with overseeing the election found no evidence of electoral fraud, she called for the decertification of the Georgia results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election and was a member of a group of Republican legislators who attempted to challenge votes cast for Joe Biden in the 2021 United States Electoral College vote count.
Greene submitted articles of impeachment claiming misuse of power a few days after Biden’s inauguration.
