The Los Angeles police have begun an investigation into a stabbing incident that took place at a Panorama City Hospital on Monday, September 19. According to the police, the suspect stabbed another person at the hospital and fled the scene.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers received a report of an assault by a deadly weapon at the Mission Community Hospital around 6:41 pm in the 14800 block of Roscoe Boulevard. Officer Annie Hernandez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that the suspect wielded a knife and stabbed a person before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services also responded to the stabbing incident around 7 pm and transported the victim to a trauma center, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Nicholas Prange revealed.

It has since been revealed that the victim was an employee at the Mission Community Hospital in Panorama City. Soon after the stabbing, the hospital was put on lockdown and law enforcement officers conducted searches throughout the building for the suspect and more victims.

According to the police authorities, the suspect is a Latino male, between 40-50 years old with a probable height of 5 feet 7 inches, 140 pounds. The police also revealed that the assailant wore a black hoodie with a black shirt, and black hat and was carrying a black backpack. The police are currently looking for the suspect.

The hospital has issued a statement following the stabbing incident and has claimed that the victim did not recognize the attacker. However, the hospital or the police did not reveal where the attack took place inside the premises, but reports have since suggested that it happened outside one of the hospital buildings inside the campus.

The condition of the victim has not been released till now, however, reports have suggested that the person was transported from the hospital in a stable condition.
