The jury is divided after Oprah Winfrey’s explosive interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. Meena Harris, vice-president Kamala Harris’ niece, has apparently chosen to side with the royal couple who decided to part ways with royalty. Soon after the full interview was aired early Monday morning (IST), Harris – who is among the celebs who have sided with Harry and Markle after the ‘inside’ problems of the royal came out in open – tweeted “HAPPY MEGHAN MARKLE APPRECIATION DAY”.

Meghan Markle alleged that the Windsor royals were fostering an atmosphere of racial hostility.

During a two-hour, much-awaited interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex claimed that members of the royal family had openly expressed concerns about how dark her son Archie’s skin would be. Meghan, breaking down in tears at one point, said “I just didn’t want to be alive any more. That was a clear, real, frightening and constant thought.”

Meena Harris defended Meghan Markle last week when the Duchess of Sussex faced a complaint she bullied former staff members.

“Keep Meghan Markle’s name out of your damn mouth. You are racist,” said Ms Harris, a former lawyer and tech executive who now runs a lifestyle brand. “Just added the Oprah interview to my calendar as an ALL-DAY EVENT,” she added.

Early last week, The Sunday Times reported that Meghan faced a bullying complaint from a close adviser in Kensington Palace. Jason Knauf, a communications secretary, filed the complaint in 2018 to protect staff members who were bullied and sometimes “left in tears” by the Duchess.

“We are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times following claims made by former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement, responding to the story. “Our HR team will look into the circumstances outlined in the article,” it added

Meghan strongly denied the allegations.

“The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma,” Fox news reported, quoting a spokesperson for the Duchess.
