Amid reports about Alexei Navalny’s deteriorating health condition while being imprisoned in Russia, US President Joe Biden commented on the situation and called it “unfair” and “totally inappropriate”.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Biden said that the situation was “totally, totally unfair”, reported AFP.

Navalny, who is a known fierce critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been on a hunger strike since the end of March after Russian prison authorities reportedly denied medical treatment for his leg and back pain.
The 44-year-old is on the edge of facing severe medical issues such as a possible cardiac arrest and a kidney failure.
Anastasia Vasilyeva, who is Navalny’s personal doctor explained his health condition on Facebook and wrote, “Our patient can die any minute” while further emphasising that a “fatal arrhythmia can develop any minute”, reported AFP.

Navalny, who was allegedly poisoned by Russian authorities, was taken into custody upon his arrival into the country after getting medically treated in Germany and was later sentenced to nearly three years in prison for embezzlement charges.
