This year’s US presidential election is arguably the most important one in American history. While over 100 million US citizens have already voted for their favourite party and millions are still waiting to cast their vote on Tuesday, the country still doesn’t know when its president will be announced.
The election process is not something that ends up quickly. In the US, each state continues to count the votes and announce the results in the days and even weeks after Election Day. Every state has a separate deadline on what they meet to declare the results.

According to Fox News, after the results are announced, the electors of the Electoral College will come together on December 14 in their respective states to cast one vote for president and one for vice-president.
These polling results will then be delivered to the Capitol. On January 6, 2021, the Senate and House of Representatives will hold a joint session to count the electoral votes.
As per Fox News, the official announcement of the new president and vice-president will take place on January 21, 2021.
