The United States has administered 150 million COVID-19 vaccination shots since Joe Biden has taken office, Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Tuesday.
“Today, we reached 150 million shots in arms,” Harris tweeted.

“Our goal was 100 million shots in 100 days. We beat that. Now our goal is 200 million shots. We’re on track to meet that.”
When Biden and Harris took office, they undertook the mission to execute 100 million vaccination jabs in 100 days, however, they have already crossed the mark and now aims to complete double the jabs in the said period.
“Next, we’ll beat this pandemic,” Harris added.
Earlier in the day, Joe Biden announced that he is expanding the eligibility of getting a COVID-19 vaccine to all adults across America starting April 19, sooner than expected.
The White House said Biden is shifting the deadline for full eligibility up after rapid progress in all 50 states in the vaccine rollouts, AFP reported.

However, countering the stream of good news from the White House is a steady rise in COVID-19 infections, as people have let down their guard, following more than a year of mask-wearing, social distancing and restrictions on businesses and entertainment.
Almost 556,000 Americans have died from COVID-19, by the far the highest toll reported in any country. On Monday, the Johns Hopkins University tracker reported 79,075 new confirmed cases and 607 deaths.
