A press release for the Harry Potter reunion mentions “more details to come” at a future date for the larger global debut for the special.

The creator and author of the stories, JK Rowling, would only be featuring in the special through archival interview interviews from 2019. The reason behind her absence has not been officially confirmed by the author, film studio Warner Bros or the broadcaster HBO, but it’s speculated that her comments, considered transphobic by many, could be the cause.
