The court has confirmed the date and time of the hearing for the arraignment of former President Donald Trump. The hearing will take place on Tuesday, April 4 at 2:15 pm Eastern Time.
A Manhattan grand jury on Thursday, March 30, voted to indict Trump for falsifying business records in connection to a 2016 hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels for her to remain silent on a 2006 affair she claims to have had with him. However, Trump denies the affair or any wrongdoing.

Reportedly, Trump faces more than 30 counts of business fraud. According to Associated Press, court officials declared the timing of the arraignment on Friday. It will be the first time in the history of the United States that a president is arraigned.
The former president has landed at La Guardia Airport, New York ahead of his arraignment in a Manhattan courthouse. According to a CNN report, he will spend Monday night at the Trump Tower.

The US Secret Service will accompany Trump in the early afternoon Tuesday to the district attorney’s office.
Trump is likely to return to Florida shortly after his court appearance and has scheduled an event in the evening to address the public, reported CNN.
Lawyers for Trump told a New York Judge on Monday that they oppose the request by the media to broadcast the arraignment on Tuesday.

In their letter to Acting New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, Trump’s attorneys said that he is required under court rules to take into account potential security concerns.
“As Your Honor is well-aware, this case presents extraordinary security concerns (including Secret Service-related concerns) and we submit that any video or photography of the proceedings will only heighten these serious concerns,” they wrote.

On Monday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office responded to the media outlets’ request and said that it was deferring to the judge to decide how best to manage his court.

According to CNN, Trump has appointed a new attorney to appear as a lead counsel in his defense against charges brought by the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
