A Florida man called Herbert Swilley is being investigated for the murder of his husband, Timothy Smith. Swilley’s daughter is also a person of interest in the case.
Zach Moore, a spokesman for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said, “Right now, our suspect is Mr. Smith’s husband, Herbert Swilley, and Herbert’s daughter Jordan is also a person of interest in this case.”
Smith’s sister, Sandy Reils also gave a statement stating, “Actually, I wasn’t surprised. My gut feeling from the very beginning was that he had something to do with it or knew who did.”

Who is Herbert Swilley?
Herbert Swilley is a 59-year-old resident of Florida accused of killing his husband. While Swilley’s daughter, Jordan Swilley is also being investigated, he is the prime suspect in the probe. Jordan is 20 years old. Currently, the Marion County sheriff’s deputies are still searching for Herbert.
According to reports, Timothy Smith was killed in March at the couple’s house. Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the Citrus Park apartment and discovered Smith’s body in a bedroom.
“Deputies responded to a well-being check on Mr. Smith, Timothy Smith. They located him in an area, and it looked like he had been violently attacked,” Zach Moore said.
Swilley actually spoke with detectives at the beginning of the inquiry. Later, though, he resisted doing the same. When the police tried to persuade him once more, his lawyer said that he would only cooperate if he were granted immunity from prosecution for killing Smith.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it needs the public’s assistance in this case and is now providing a reward of up to $9,500 for information. Smith’s sister is also requesting help. “He was a wonderful man. He had a very giving heart, loving, would do anything for anybody,” Reils said.
