However, due to the large number of people at the gas station, the user couldn’t confirm whether the girl was alone. The Cornelius Police Department confirmed that they were aware of this information and are investigating the lead.

Diana Cojocari claimed she last saw Madalina at home on November 23, 2022, around 10 p.m., while also telling school officials that Madalina had been missing since November 22 at noon when she arrived at the school without her.

Police are exploring the possibility that Madalina Cojocari may have become a victim of human trafficking. Search warrants revealed that Madalina’s mother had asked a distant relative for help in “smuggling” herself and Madalina away. She also expressed being in a “bad relationship” with her husband, Christopher Palmiter, and wanting a divorce.

Investigators found extensive communication between Diana Cojocari and this relative, whose phone records also showed involvement in an ongoing drug/narcotic trafficking investigation.
