The Whitewater police department is currently dealing with a concerning situation involving an 18-year-old individual who is reported to be armed with multiple rifles and is considered a fugitive after allegedly holding a woman against her will for an extended period of time. This ongoing incident has been confirmed by authorities on Monday, October 16.
According to officials, their involvement began at approximately 10:30 p.m. on the preceding Sunday when they received information that Yefferson Guzman Rodriguez, a resident of Whitewater, was allegedly responsible for detaining a woman. At one point during this ordeal, he is said to have placed a firearm against the woman’s head, escalating the gravity of the situation.

Who is Yefferson Guzman Rodriguez?
Guzman Rodriguez is described as a Spanish-speaking individual, standing at a height of 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 180 pounds. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, it is believed that Guzman Rodriguez fled from the location. At the time of his departure, he was reportedly armed and may have sought refuge in either a detached garage or the basement of the residence.
Adding to the concern, Guzman Rodriguez is reported to have made threats to harm law enforcement personnel, heightening the risks involved in this situation. As a result, officers established a perimeter around the property, and additional support was called in, including the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and the Beloit Police Department SWAT team, to aid in the search of the premises. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the suspect was not found on the property during the search.
Currently, Yefferson Guzman Rodriguez remains at large and is considered armed. Authorities are taking this matter seriously due to his alleged possession of multiple rifles, making it imperative to locate and apprehend him swiftly.
