A shooting incident occurred in the Las Vegas northeast valley on Tuesday. The incident claimed the life of one individual and injured another, as confirmed by Las Vegas Metropolitan police.

The victim in the incident, who was declared dead, has been identified as Joshua Hernandez.

Who was Joshua Hernandez?

Joshua Hernandez was 20 years old. The victim’s body was identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

He died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head, which the police have determined to be a homicide. The shooting took place in the 5200 block of Birdstone Court, close to Owens Avenue and Nellis Boulevard on August 8, just before 11:30 p.m. Two men who had been shot were found by the officers when they arrived, as confirmed by police authorities.

The coroner’s office has confirmed that Hernandez died on August 9 at about 1:30 a.m. after being taken right away to UMC. However, the second man was transported to the hospital; fortunately, the police reported that his wounds were not life-threatening.

After the incident, homicide detectives were eventually given the case to continue their investigation. As per reports, it is believed to be an act of self-defense, the investigation has already been sent to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for consideration.

Meanwhile, another incident was reported after a man was reportedly shot by Wilson County deputies at a home on Linwood Road. A statement from the sheriff’s office said that the incident happened because the man refused to lay down the firearm he was holding when told to do so.

Shortly after 6 o’clock, authorities were contacted to check on a residence in the 3500 block of Linwood Road. When deputies arrived at the scene of the call, they found an armed guy. When the individual refused to comply with deputies’ instructions for him to disarm, bullets were fired.
