The police have arrested three people in relation to the fatal stabbing of a female police employee in Rambouillet, southwest of France, as per a judicial source.
The attacker, Jamel G, 38, was from Tunisia.
The three held were part of the “entourage” of the assailant, reported AFP.
After the female officer was fatally stabbed by the Tunisian man, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that the country will never give in to “Islamist terrorism”.

Macron took to Twitter condemning the incident and wrote, “In our fight against Islamist terrorism, we will never give in.”
The unarmed French administrative officer, Stephanie, 48, was stabbed in the neck as she was returning from her break at 2.20 in the afternoon. It happened at the entrance of the police station.
According to witnesses, the 36-year-old man had been on his phone while roamed in front of the police station and lunged at the officer as she entered the police station. Other police officers present at the scene opened fire at the attacker. He died in the hospital after being shot by the officers.

The attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar”, which means “God is greatest” during the altercation according to sources close to the investigation. The attacker, identified as Jamel G was previously unknown to security forces but lived in France with authentic papers, reported BBC.
Anti-terror prosecutors are treating the attack as a possible terror attack. The nature, remarks and conditions under which the attack took place convinced the prosecutors to treat it as an anti-terror investigation.
Prime Minister Jean Castex told reporters, “Our determination to combat terrorism in all its forms is as resolute as ever,” while applauding the police’s response to the attack. He said his thoughts were with the late officer’s family and that he condemned the “barbaric act of boundless cruelty”.
