US President Joe Biden has put out a series of tweets, by way of his social media staff, focusing on Ukraine, toughness towards Russia, and compassion for American troops.
Speaking of the Russian invasion, Biden said “A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire will never erase a people’s love for liberty. Brutality will never grind down their will to be free. Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia”.
He also added, “Rather than breaking Ukrainian resolve, Russia’s brutal tactics have only strengthened it. Rather than driving NATO apart, the West is now stronger and more united than it has ever been”. The president continued, “Let there be no doubt that this war has already been a strategic failure for Russia. Putin thought Ukrainians would roll over and not fight. Instead, Russian forces have met their match with brave and stiff Ukrainian resistance”.

The US president visited Europe for the first time since Russia sent troops into Ukraine. He added Poland as a stop, where he met Ukrainian refugees and called Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin a butcher for his actions in the neighbouring country.
However, the trip wasn’t without its set of snafus. President Biden claimed that Putin could not be allowed to remain in power, a statement that the White House had to retract. Washington was also forced to explain their stance that the US president wasn’t speaking of a regime change in Russia, but rather, wanted Putin to stop exercising power.

He also said, “You’re going to see when you’re there, and some of you have been there, you’re gonna see — you’re gonna see women, young people standing in the middle in front of a damned tank just saying, ‘I’m not leaving, I’m holding my ground,'” hinting that American troops would be in Ukraine.
The White House again clarified that Biden remained firm in his stance about not sending troops to Ukraine, to avoid direct conflict with Russia.
