The investigation into the death of New York based social media influencer Gabby Petito and the disappearance of her fiance Brian Laundrie has uncovered details about the latter’s movements. Petito was found dead in a Wyoming campground last month and the police have found traces of human activity at the nature reserve, restricted, that has been the focus of a massive search, CNN reported.

Laundrie is a person of interest in Petito’s death that was identified as homicide upon preliminary investigation. As per his parents’ account he went hiking in a nearby forest preserve on September 14, and has not been seen since.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a warrant for Laundrie’s arrest on charges of debit card fraud after he made withdrawals using someone’s else card on September 22.

Laundrie family’s lawyer, Steven Bertolini confirmed to CBS News that Laundrie flew home on August 17 and returned to Utah on August 23, four days before Petito was last seen.

According to the attorney, Laundrie flew to Florida to get some supplies and close a storage unit to save money. This was after he and Petito were stopped by police over a domestic dispute. The two had embarked on a cross-country road trip over the summer.

Laundrie’s father had been asked to show law enforcement the trails at the reserve, which his son had been known to use, a source told CNN. But when a camp side was discovered and human activity was detected, police restricted the search on Wednesday and did not include his father.

An abandoned vehicle notice was placed on a Ford Mustang belonging to the Laundrie family outside the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park on September 14, North Port police said, as per CNN, Wednesday.

“The Laundries were basing the date Brian left on their recollection of certain events. Upon further communication with the FBI and confirmation of the Mustang being at the Laundrie residence on Wednesday September 15, we now believe the day Brian left to hike in the preserve was Monday September 13,” Bertolino told CNN.
