Tahira Kashyap, writer and filmmaker, took to Instagram and shared a powerful poem on February 4, which is observed as the World Cancer Day.
Tahira is a survivor of Breast Cancer and has since openly spoken about her journey and in support of early detection of breast cancer.

In her Instagram post, Tahira encouraged people to openly embrace their scars and see them as badges of honour.
In the video, she recited a poem and wrote, ”
World Cancer Day. This is something I had experienced and written about and still mean every word of it! Joining this year’s theme of I AM AND I WILL , I urge you all to take notice of this day, to spread awareness about early breast cancer detection, to remove any stigma associated with it and to celebrate life along with it’s many scars?”

Tahira is the mother of two children and wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Her latest book ‘The 12 Commandments Of Being A Woman’ was released last year.
She is currently working with Ekta Kapoor on a new project.
