Lionel Messi stunned the entire world once again on Wednesday, when he scored his first goal of the pre-season for Paris Saint-Germain against Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale with his weak foot. The Argentine opened the chart for the French giants, and his goal was appreciated by not only his teammates on the pitch, but millions of fans across the world.
PSG began their pre-season on July 15, when they faced Ligue 2 side US Quevilly-Rouen Métropole on July 15. While Messi started the game, the Argentine superstar could not get himself onto the scoresheet as the match finished 2-0, courtesy of goals from Sergio Ramos and Djeidi Gassama.

However, Messi did not disappoint the Japanese spectators on July 20, many of whom had attended the game to see him live from the stadium. The attacker opened the scoring for PSG on the 32nd minute, scoring a stunner by his weak foot after receiving a pass from teammate Achraf Hakimi.

Video footage of the goal soon emerged on social media sites, praising the Argentine’s abilities to score from his weaker foot. The Argentine prefers to shoot with his left foot, similar to his countryman and legend Diego Maradona, but has scored many beautiful goals in his career using his weak (right) foot.

Messi was criticised heavily in the previous season, after he joined PSG on a free transfer from FC Barcelona, for not being able to replicate his earlier performances at the Spanish club. He registered 11 goals and 15 assists across all competitions for the French giants, numbers that do not match with the Argentine’s usual performance.
However, PSG have appointed a new manager in Christophe Galtier since then, who has replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the helm and fans are enthusiastic that the 55-year-old could help Messi to unlock his full potential in Paris.
