On Matchday 7 of the English Premier League defending champions Liverpool came back from behind at home against West Ham to win 2-1 on Saturday. Manchester City and Frank Lampard coached-Chelsea also won their respective games against Sheffield United and Burnley.
Following a midweek victory in the Champions League against Midtjylland, the Jurgen Klopp side started with triple threat Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in the attack. Captain Jordan Henderson alongside Wijnaldum and teenage Curtis Jone was in charge of manning the midfield providing crucial passes for the attacking trio.
Defender Trent Alexander Arnold made his 100th appearance for the side on the night.
The 20-time-Premier League champions were dealt a blow when opponents West Ham clinched an early lead from a Pablo Fornals goal in the 10th minute.
The Merseyside football club responded by equalising from the spot in the 42nd minute after striker Mohammed Salah was brought down in the penalty box by Masuaka. Salah then scored the equalising goal from the spot, slotting the ball low and in the middle, sending West Ham keeper Fabianski the wrong way.
Diogo Jota scored the winning goal for the Reds in the 82nd minute from a Xherdan Shaqiri assist. Jota was brought on in place of Roberto Firmino in the 70th minute and Klopp’s tactical move paid rich dividends with the 23-year-old handing Liverpool three points on the night.
Liverpool now regain hold of the top spot on the Premier League with Everton sitting on second with a match in hand.
In the other ties on Saturday, Frank Lampand coached Chelsea thrashed opponents Burnley away from home. New signing Hakim Ziyech scored the opening goal in the 26th minute from a Tammy Abraham assist. Defender Kurt Zouma scored the second goal on the night with a header from Mason Mount’s cross. The defender was left unmarked in the penalty box and rose highest to meet the cross from Mount.
The third goal was scored by summer signing Timo Werner from a Ziyech assist in the 70th minute. Chelsea sit fourth one the EPL points table with 12 points courtesy their win against Burnley.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City won their outing against Sheffield United 1-0 at Bramall Lane courtesy of a Kyle Walker finish.
Wolverhampton Wanderers also won their game against Crystal Palace by a 2-0 margin on Saturday.
In the other Premier League games on Sunday, Arsenal will go toe-to-toe with rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, while Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur will face Brighton.
