Fox News State Department correspondent Benjamin Hall shared a health update after getting injured in an attack in Ukraine that left two of his colleagues dead.
He tweeted Thursday evening, “To sum it up, I’ve lost half a leg on one side and a foot on the other. One hand is being put together, one eye is no longer working, and my hearing is pretty blown… but all in all I feel pretty damn lucky to be here – and it is the people who got me here who are amazing!”
Hall is currently in a military medical facility in Texas, where he has undergone numerous surgeries for the war wounds sustained in the past month.
The Fox news correspondent also paid tribute to his cameraman, Pierre Zakrzewski, who’s 55 years old, and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshinova, aged 24, neither of whom survived the attack.

Hall wrote, “I need to pay tribute to my colleagues Pierre and Sasha who didn’t make it that day. Pierre and I travelled the world together, working was his joy and his joy was infectious. RIP”.
Hall was newsgathering outside the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, when he was injured. The father of four joined the news organization in 2015. He was with Zakrzewski when their vehicle was hit by incoming fire.
The latter, a citizen of Ireland, also joined Fox News in 2015. Zakrzewski, a war photographer, covered several global events in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. At the time of his death, network chief Suzanne Scott issued a memo that said, “He was wildly popular — everyone in the media industry who has covered a foreign story knew and respected Pierre”.
