As the Tokyo Olympics enter its early stages on July 24, a long list of athletes will be representing the United States in at least a dozen sports including Table Tennis, Water Polo, Football and Fencing.
While some sporting events scheduled for Day 2 of the Tokyo Olympics are team sports, most are games requiring just one player.
According to the official site of Tokyo Olympics, the day will be kicked off with the 3×3 Basketball match. The United States team will be making its appearance in the third and fourth session and will be taking on teams from France and Mongolia. The US team will feature Kelsey Plum, Jacquelyn Young, Gray Allisha and Stefanie Dolson.

US team for Archery will consist of Mackenzie Brown and Brady Ellison, who will be taking on Indonesian players Diananda Choirunisa at the Yumenoshima Final Field.
At the Musashino Forest Plaza Court 1, the Badminton men’s double matches will be hosted, where the United States is scheduled to clash with China in the first session. Ryan Chew and Phillip Chew will be representing the US on the court on July 24.
The opening round of softball will be played between three teams on Day 2 of the Tokyo Olympics. US will take on their southern neighbors Mexico at the Yokohama Baseball Stadium.
Men’s preliminary round of pool D in Beach Volleyball will also be played on July 24th. The Netherlands will clash with the United States team, while both sides seek solid ground in the upcoming games.

In the Boxing matches on Day 2, players from the United States will take the stage three times in different categories. Round 1 will consist of ‘feathers’ category games of both men and women. The second round will see US’ Delante Johnson take on Argentina in the men’s welter category.
Fencing will see at least five players from the United States on Day 2 of the Tokyo Olympics. These include Eli Dershwitz, Daryl Homer, Courtney Hurley, Katherine Holmes and Kelly Hurley, according to the website of the games.
The United States women’s football team will lock horns with New Zealand on July 24th at the Saitama Stadium.
Nikhil Kumar of United States will be rallying the ball against Mongolia’s Lkhagvasuren Enkhbat in Table Tennis in the men’s preliminary rounds.
Six United States players will be appearing on the court to compete in different categories of Tennis. These include Rajeev Ram, Frances Tiafoe, Alison Riske, Tommy Paul, Tennys Sandgren and Jessica Pegula.
United States teams will also take on the Olympics host Japan women’s preliminary round of Water Polo while men’s volleyball team will clash with France on Day 2 of the sporting event.
