US President Joe Biden during his address on Thursday said that he has no plans to talk with Russia President Vladimir Putin amid Ukraine crisis.
Asked whether he intends to speak to Vladimir Putin in the near future, Biden said, “I have no plans to talk with Putin.”

Last week, the White House had said that President Joe Biden accepted “in principle” a meeting with Putin.
“As the President has repeatedly made clear, we are committed to pursuing diplomacy until the moment an invasion begins,” Psaki said in a statement.

“President Biden accepted in principle a meeting with President Putin following that engagement, again, if an invasion hasn’t happened. We are always ready for diplomacy,” she added.
However, on Thursday, Russia launched a full-scale invasion on Ukraine. Moscow unleashed airstrikes on cities and military bases and sent troops and tanks from multiple directions in a move that could rewrite the world’s geopolitical landscap. Among the most worrying developments was when Russia started warfare at the Chernobyl nuclear plant, where radioactivity is still leaking from history’s worst nuclear disaster 36 years ago.

Biden also announced a set of new sanctions targetting Russian banks, oligarchs and high-tech sectors. “The United States and its allies will block assets of four large Russian banks, impose export controls and sanction oligarchs,” he said.
