The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will be held over a special four-day bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022, commemorating the monarch’s coronation on June 2, 1953.

Military parades and church services are among the events, as are street parties and a pop concert outside Buckingham Palace.

Most celebrations will be broadcast live, allowing people all over the world to take part in this historic event.

Here’s a list of events and where to watch them –

Trooping the Colour Parade

Trooping The Colour, also known as the Queen’s Birthday Parade, will take place on Thursday, June 2.

It will include a military parade through London and a six-minute flyover over Buckingham Palace.

Trooping the Colour will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. At 10 a.m. (2:30 pm IST), coverage will begin.

Lighting up the Jubilee

Over the Platinum Jubilee weekend, thousands of community beacons will be lit up across the UK, while Commonwealth beacons will be lit up in the capital cities of the 54 Commonwealth nations.

The Commonwealth beacons will go off at 9.15 p.m. local time, (1:45 am IST) while the UK beacons will go off at (2:15 am IST) 9.45 p.m.

On Thursday, June 2, BBC One and BBC iPlayer will broadcast Platinum Beacons: Lighting Up the Jubilee. At 8 p.m. (12:30 am IST), coverage will begin.

Thanksgiving Service

St Paul’s Cathedral in London will host a Thanksgiving Service. On BBC One, David Dimbleby, Kirsty Young, and Sophie Raworth will report live from the Cathedral.

A Thanksgiving Service will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Friday, June 3rd. At 9.15 a.m. (1:45 am IST), coverage will begin.

‘The Crown Jewels’ documentary

Clive Myrie was granted exclusive access to the Crown Jewels for a documentary about their complicated history.

On Friday, June 3rd, at 7.30 pm (3:00 pm IST), the BBC and BBC iPlayer will broadcast ‘The Crown Jewels’.

Platinum Party

The Platinum Party at the Palace will include performances by music stars, a live orchestra, and actors telling stories from the Queen’s reign. The full lineup has yet to be announced, but George Ezra will be there.

Platinum Party at the Palace will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7.30 (3:00 pm IST) pm on Saturday, June 4th.

Platinum Jubilee Pageant

To commemorate the Queen’s reign, over 6,500 performers, including volunteers, dancers, musicians, soldiers, and essential workers, will march along The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace and around nearby streets.

The entire event will be broadcast on BBC One, ITV, and Sky, with live coverage on BBC iPlayer.
