Chris Sununu is an American politician who is currently serving as the governor of New Hampshire. His current term as the state’s governor ends in January 2023.

Before getting involved in the American political system, Sununu went to completed his early education at Thomas Jefferson High School in 1993 and went on to join the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1998 and acquired qualifications in Civil and Environmental Engineering, according to the governor’s official website.

After completing his education, Sununu went on to work as an environmental engineer for nearly a decade. He also became the Chief Executive Officer of Waterville Valley Ski Resort, according to media reports.

Sununu, who was born in the city of Salem in New Hampshire, was a part of the New Hampshire Executive Council before taking over as the state’s governor. The 46-year-old served three terms in the state’s executive council after first being elected in 2010. He did not seek reelection after finishing his final term in 2016.

According to governor Sununu’s official website, he “created The Doorway and the Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative, both of which have become national models for prevention, treatment and recovery from substance use disorder and are consistently improving results for the citizens of New Hampshire.”

Sununu, who is a member of the Republican party, has always had links to American politics through his family. John H. Sununu, a former governor of New Hampshire and the White House Chief of Staff to former United States President George H. W. Bush, is the father of Chris Sununu. Additionally, Sununu is also the brother of John E. Sununu, a former Senator.

Sununu was admitted to a hospital earlier in the day after having flulike symptoms since Wednesday. He had tested negative three times for COVID-19.

Tests confirmed on Friday that a bleeding ulcer was the cause of New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu’s flulike symptoms, his chief of staff said, according to reports from Associated Press.
