Dusan Vlahovic, who has recently been in the news over his big money move to Serie A side Juventus, is a Serbian forward who was playing for Italian side Fiorentina.

Born in 2000, Vlahovic started his senior career with Serbian SuperLiga side Partizan in 2016. After helping Partizan win several titles, one league and two Serbian Cups, The 22-year-old left Partizan for Italy in 2018.

After signing with Fiorentina for a fee believed to be around €12 million in June 2017, Vlahovic’s contract became official when he turned 18 on January 28, 2018. Subsequently, he was officially bought by Fiorentina in February and allotted jersey number 18.

However, due to administrative roadblocks, Vlahovic did not play for Fiorentina for months and finally got his debut in a 2-1 loss against Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Vlahovic did not manage any goals in the Serie A in his 10 appearances for Fiorentina in the 2018/2019 season, his debut Season in the Serie A, but adjusted well within a season.

The 2019/2020 season saw Vlahovic convert six times and provide four assists over the course of the league. The Serbian also went on to score twice in four appearances in the Coppa Italia that season.

The 22-year-old truly came into his stride in the 2020/2021 season, scoring 21 goals in 37 appearances for Fiorentina. Vlahovic’s 21 goal tally, coupled with his three assists in the league, saw him attract the attention of several big European clubs.

The Serbian took his fine form into the 2021/22 season, and had scored 17 times and assisted four times in 21 games for Fiorentina in the Serie A at the time of writing.

With the opening of the January transfer window in 2022, Vlahovic was heavily linked to Premier League side Arsenal, but instead joined Juventus for a fee of €75 million including add ons. Vlahovic will reportedly earn €7 million per year at Juventus.
