Joseph Charles Buttler MBE, born on September 8, 1990, is an English cricketer who currently captains the England One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) teams as well as playing for the England Test team. He is regarded as one of the world’s top white-ball batters.
He currently represents Lancashire in domestic cricket, having previously represented Somerset, and has played in numerous Twenty20 tournaments, including for the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.

Buttler made his Twenty20 International debut in 2011, his One Day International debut in 2012, and his Test debut in 2014. He was a member of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup, and he made the winning run-out during the Super Over.
Buttler bats and bowls as a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman. Following Eoin Morgan, he has the most T20I caps for England. He and Adil Rashid hold the world record for the longest seventh-wicket stand in one-day internationals: 177 against New Zealand during their 2015 tour of England. He shares the world record for the best second-wicket stand in T20Is with Dawid Malan: 167* against South Africa during England’s 2020 tour.

He is England’s second-highest T20I run-scorer after Morgan, has the most T20I half-centuries (16), and is one of only four Englishmen to achieve a T20I century. He owns the England ODI record for most dismissals (213), as well as the England T20I record for most dismissals (47).
Buttler was born on September 8, 1990, in Taunton, Somerset, and attended King’s College, Taunton, where he showed his early talent in cricket.

Buttler married Louise Webber in October 2017. Steven Finn and Alex Hales, England teammates, served as ushers at the wedding. Georgia Rose, their first child, was born in April 2019, and Margot, their second child, was born in September 2021.
In the 2020 New Year Honours, Buttler was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to cricket.
