A veteran paramedic and ambulance driver who unfortunately died this morning has been identified as Aharon Haimov.
He died prematurely after being shot by Palestinian terrorists while riding in an MDA ambulance. When the planned attack on Israel by Hamas from Gaza began, Haimov was on his way to help the victims in his hometown of Ofakim.

Who was Aharon Haimov?
Aharon Haimov was 25 years old. He was married and had two children. He is survived by his parents, siblings, and an extended family, who are currently mourning his tragic demise.
His involvement with MDA began as a post-high school volunteer, which eventually led him to pursue a career as an emergency medicine paramedic and ambulance driver. Haimov continuously demonstrated a high level of attention to his work throughout his career and was frequently the first to act in emergencies.

After finishing high school, he started volunteering with MDA, which eventually inspired him to seek a profession as an emergency medicine paramedic and ambulance driver. Throughout his career, Haimov always showed a high level of focus on his work and frequently took the initiative in emergencies.
Eli Bin, the director-general of MDA, paid tribute to Haimov and emphasized his unshakable dedication to the welfare of people and the sanctity of life, especially in the midst of the awful events that are taking place right now.
Eli Bin in a statement said, “He was a person who put the good of others and the value of life ahead of everything else — including today, on this tragic morning”
While riding in an MDA ambulance, he was shot by Palestinian terrorists and passed away before his time. Haimov was en route to assist the victims in his village of Ofakim when the premeditated attack on Israel by Hamas from Gaza began.
