Every year, World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 to spread awareness and encourage people to protect the environment.

Back in 1972, the United Nations General Assembly decided upon the world environment day after the discussion on the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. Finally, in the year 1974, the very first World Environment Day was celebrated with the theme, ‘Only One Earth’.
