Tollywood star Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film will start production in April, its makers announced on Thursday. The film is tentatively titled “SSMB28” and is directed by Trivikram, whose last project was the Allu Arjun blockbuster “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.”
The film also stars Pooja Hegde and is backed by S Radhakrishna under the Haarika and Hassine Creations banner.
The makers launched the film today, February 3, in Hyderabad with a ritual. The production house tweeted that the regular shoot will start in April 2022.

This project will reunite Mahesh Babu and Trivikram after films like “Athadu” in 2005 and “Khaleja” in 2010.
Pooja Hegde has previously worked with the filmmaker in “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo” and “Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava”, co-starring Jr NTR.
Mahesh Babu, called Prince of Tollywood by his fans, will be next seen on “Sarkaru Vaari Paata”, scheduled for release in May.
Mahesh Babu has appeared in more than 25 films and won several accolades, including eight Nandi Awards, five Filmfare South Awards, four South Indian International Movie Awards, three CineMAA Awards, and one IIFA Utsavam Award. The actor also owns G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, a production house.
The younger son of veteran Telugu actor Krishna, Mahesh Babu made his debut as a child artist in a cameo role in Needa in 1979, at the age of four, and acted in eight other films as a child artist. He played the lead role in Rajakumarudu (1999), which won him Nandi Award for Best Male Debut. The actor achieved his breakthrough with the supernatural drama Murari in 2001, and the action film Okkadu in 2003.

Apart from being an actor, Mahesh Babu is a humanitarian and philanthropist. He runs a charitable trust and non-profit organisation, Heal-a-Child. He is also an ambassador for Rainbow Hospitals.
