Jamaal Jarrett, Georgia Bulldogs’ defensive tackle, was trolled on social media for making a racist comment during the 2023 NFL Draft over the weekend.
A video of Jarrett making a racist remark towards an Asian man who delivered the Atlanta Falcons’ first-round pick announcement went viral on social media.
“A Georgia Bulldogs football player made anti Asian comments on his Instagram Live when he saw an Asian man announcing a pick in the NFL Draft. His name is Jamaal Jarrett. This is unacceptable and disgusting,” a Twitter user said.
“JAH JARRETT THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! no wonder carolina didn’t take this kid. racist and has character issues. yikes. bad look and classless @JamaalJarrett,” another one criticised him.
“Practically no coverage of UGA football player Jamaal Jarrett spouting an anti-Asian racial epithet. The school and football program needs to hold him accountable for his actions. The fact that he did this after the racist Atlanta spa shootings just two years ago is unacceptable,” a third one tweeted.
