Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Monday arrived at the Met Gala red carpet, but not with his usual guest.
Since he split with Grimes, Elon brought his supermodel mom Maye Musk as his plus one.

After buying Twitter for $44 billion, the 2022 Met Gala is the billionaire’s first time spotted in public since the buyout.
Speaking to La La Anthony, Musk said, “My goal, assuming everything gets done, is to make Twitter as inclusive as possible and to have as broad a swathe of people on Twitter as possible.”

“And that it is entertaining and funny and they have as much fun as possible,” he added.
Speaking on his attire, Elon said he was “following the dress code” in his classic tuxedo. Meanwhile, Maye was dolled up in a soft, maroon Dior gown and cords of pearls draped around her neck.

This year’s hosts are Regina King, power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Of course, Vogue’s Anna Wintour is supervising the whole shebang as she has since the ’90s.
Her fellow honorary co-chairs are designer Tom Ford and Instagram head Adam Mosseri.

Ford, also a film director, is one of nine directors whose work is featured in the new spring exhibit.
This year, there will be 400 guests — similar to the September gala, and lower than pre-pandemic highs of 500-600. Trying to predict? Take out your pen and jot down some of your favourite names, the buzzier the better.
