Welcoming the Union Budget 2022, Indian benchmark indices saw an uptrend on February 1, 2022. BSE Sensex surged 848.40 or 1.46% to close at 58,862. Similarly, NSE Nifty jumped 237.00 points or 1.37% to close at 17,576.85. After the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman projected the capital expenditure for the next fiscal year at Rs 7.5 lakh crore, which is 35% more than the Rs 5.5 lakh crore projected for 2021-22. Steel stocks closed higher after FM Sitharaman announced certain measures that are expected to be beneficial for the steel industry. Steel stocks closed around 4-8% higher.

BPCL: The stocks plunged by 4.46% or 17.70 points to close at Rs 379.35. It was the top loser on Nifty.
Hatsun Agro Products: The stock jumped 145.90 points or 14.28% to close at Rs 1,167.90 and it was the top performer on the Nifty 500.
HPCL: The stock slipped 7.07% or 22.20 points to close at Rs 291.90 and was the top loser on the Nifty 500
Tata Steel: The steel stock gained 7.46% or 81 points to close at Rs 1,166.55. The highest it touched was 1,174.45 and the lowest was 1086.40.
JSW Steel: The stock jumped 4.06% or 25.55 points to close at Rs 654.50. The highest it touched was 658.85 and the lowest was 628.00.
Sun Pharmaceuticals: The pharma stock jumped by 6.94% or 57.90 points to close at Rs 892.05.
Indusind Bank: The private lender’s stock surged 5.76% or 50.20 points to end at Rs 922.09.
Mahindra & Mahindra: The Indian automaker’s stock dropped by 1.67% or 2.55 points to close at 212.85.
