Actor Johnny Crawford died on Thursday, his family confirmed in a statement on his website. Crawford was 75. 

The original ‘Musketeer’ had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He contracted COVID-19 and pneumonia but the cause of his death was not specified in the statement.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news of Johnny Crawford’s passing. He slipped away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021, with Charlotte, his wife, by his side,” the family said.

Crawford was best known for his role as Mark McCain in ABC’s ‘The Rifleman’. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in the series at the age of 13 in 1959.
