Former US President Donald Trump has sued the big three in the tech sphere. The lawsuit claims that Trump and other conservatives voices have
been wrongfully censored by these companies.
The cases, filed in a federal court in Miami, is against
Facebook, Twitter, and Google-owned Youtube and the CEOs of the said companies,
Trump announced at a press conference in
New Jersey on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported. He was joined in the
presser by other plaintiffs in the suits.

“We’re demanding an end to the shadow-banning, a stop to the
silencing and a stop to the blacklisting, banishing, and cancelling that you
know so well,” Trump was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
Facebook, Google, and Twitter are yet to issue any comments
on the issue.
Trump and the members of the Republican Party have been
arguing for a long time that Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms
have abused the protection that Section
230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act gives them. Trump and his supporters
want that immunity to end or at least meet the requirements set by the
government.
According to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act,
social media platforms can moderate their services by removing posts that they
deem obscene or violate the services’ own standards in “good faith.” The law
also grants immunity to the internet companies against any liability for the material
that their users post.
Most of the social media companies, including Twitter,
Facebook and YouTube, banned Trump after his supporters stormed the US Capitol
building on January 6 this year citing concerns that he would incite further
violence.
Even after that, Trump has continued with his claims that he
won the 2020 US presidential elections, even after state and local election
officials, his own attorney general, and courts have said that there is no
evidence of the mass voter fraud.
