American rapper Kanye West is the latest to extend his voice against the police brutality in Nigeria. The 43-year-old joined the long list of international stars, including Trey Songz, Rio Ferdinand and John Boyega, to support the local Nigerians who are protesting against the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

The countrywide protests in Nigeria started when youngsters across various cities used the internet to complain about over the incidents of harassment, kidnapping and extortion by the SARS. The outcry led to demonstrations and it continued even after the inspector general of police announced Sunday that the unit was being disbanded and its officers redeployed.
16-time Grammy winner, gospel singer Kirk Franklin posted a message on Instagram. “For over 20 years, Nigeria stood with me, now I stand with you. #endsarsnow,” he said.
Singer Tremaine Aldon better known as Trey Songz tweeted, “Police brutality here in America often is an abuse of power driven by race. To be brutalised, extorted, and murdered by your own people is unimaginable. The #EndSARS hashtag has been trending as various international celebrities are joining this parade against Special Anti Robbery Squad.
