Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas opened up about the recent prop shooting incident by Alec Baldwin on a movie set, which resulted in the killing of a cinematographer. The ‘Quantico’ actor expressed shock at the firing and condoled the death of the deceased cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Sharing a picture of the deceased director on her social media profile, Priyanka expressed that she was shocked and feels that film sets should be a safe place for all those who are involved in a particular project.

“I am so shook. I cannot imagine what everyone involved in this tragedy is feeling. There are no words. No one should die on a film set. Period. My heart goes out to Halyna Hutchins family and everyone who knew her,” wrote Chopra adding broken heart emoji alongside the note.
Earlier Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut condemned the prop gun firing incident and emphasized the need to ensure safety measures on the sets.
Popular American actor Alec Baldwin on Thursday accidentally fired a loaded weapon on the set of his movie ‘Rust’, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Speaking about the incident for the first since the accident, the director said he was “gutted” by Hutchins’s death.
The accident that shook the entire industry took place on the New Mexico set of the movie. Baldwin fired a prop gun with a live round, killing 42-year-old Hutchins. Souza, who was standing behind the actor, was also injured in the incident. He was treated in hospital and later discharged.

According to the court records, Baldwin was handed the gun by an assistant director who assured that it was safe. As of Saturday, police were investigating the incident and no charges had been brought.
Meanwhile, multiple reports stated that prior to the shooting, several union crew members walked off set in protest of “poor” working conditions.
