Alec Baldwin, the
Hollywood actor who shot his prop gun which accidentally killed a cinematographer
Halyna Hutchins, is now being haunted by an old tweet on accidentally killing
someone which has since gone viral. On September 23, 2017, the 63-year-old actor
had tweeted: “I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone.” In his
tweet, the actor was referring to a news report about a police shooting that
the court has since ruled as justified’.

As news of the
incident on the film sets of “Rust” spread, Twitter users dug through Baldwin’s
old tweets to find this. “Maybe you can answer that question now,” a Twitter
user wrote sharing Baldwin’s quote next to headlines about the actor’s fatal
incident on the film set. And there were others who were harsher. One said,
Baldwin’s incident was an example of “when the self-righteous demonstrate hypocrisy”.

And then there
were those who were sympathetic to the actor’s ordeal and expressed outrage at
those who have brought back the tweet saying that attacking Baldwin within
hours of the tragedy will “put a terrible pain on Alec’s heart for the rest of
his life”.

The incident Baldwin
referred to in his 2017 tweet was regarding a Huntington Beach police officer
named Esparza who was caught on video shooting 27-year-old Dilian Tabares dead
after Tabares had punched the cop and reached for his gun.

Later, the Orange
County court deemed the shooting justified after Tabares’ DNA was found on the
grip of Esparza’s gun and flashlight which proved that he had fought the cop
and grabbed his gun. The case is set to go to the federal district court in
Santa Ana, according to a Los Angeles Times report.
